"My artworks are abstracted visions of what I can see and not see! My work is not representational as I am not trying to imitate nature but to create my own reality from what inspires me. I understand the land, so I think this comes through in my work, yet much of what I see comes from pictures in my mind. I love paint. I love colour, line, shapes and the arabesque! I draw with paint. I like movement, emotion, freedom and the process of painting." Anne Spencer
Anne Spencer is a Sydney based artist whose artwork has continued to sell solidly to sell solidly since her first exhibition. Anne’s artworks have sold to a multitude of local Australian clients as well as internationally in London, Switzerland, Singapore and New York City.
“My artwork is semi representational. I don’t try to imitate nature but to create in paint the essence of how I react to a given experience or landscape. Colour, simplifed line, shape and forms capture this essence. I agree with Wolf Kahn -An artist thinks with a brush in his/her hand”. Anne Spencer
