BACKGROUND
Katherine McCully, Director of Gallery NWC, comes from a creative family with several practicing visual artists, textile craftspeople, a writer, and performers. The 2024-2026 period was particularly challenging, with both Katherine's father and mother fighting cancer battles, both now in remission.
"I was not sure what to do to help dad bring his accounts to a healthier balance. When I focused on what I could offer, the sense of helplessness began to dissipate and the concept of the fundraiser was born."
Katherine reached out to family and received immediate positive responses. Robert Mitchell visits Boyd twice a week at his aged care home, demonstrating an undeniable bond and care towards Boyd's ongoing recovery.
