ARTIST STATEMENT:

CORNERS: Capturing the visceral nature of colour and light within the home, Corners focuses on the intimate details of the domestic space. 
A fleeting moment of vibrancy and texture, framed within the confines of a small space, 
the artist studies what light can do with refractions and reflections on surfaces and 
objects.
Hannah Hausmann paints unique still lifes to portray small portions of mostly her own 
home. Fragments of time and space within which there are colours that catch her eye, a 
composition that looks inviting and, most importantly, seems fun to paint.
Colour and shape is everything. Mixing colour is how you capture light in a moment and 
transfer it to canvas. Shape is how you measure and place that colour to get a real image.  
Colour and shape is how you can show what light does to the little corners of your home.

ARTIST BIO:

Hannah Hausmann is an emerging artist from the Blue Mountains, NSW, who focuses on 
the beauty that can form from her visual creativity. She took art lessons as a child and had 
an awakening of creative spirit at the end of 2023, now spending as much time as she can 
channeling that energy. Having recently discovered new materials through her TAFE 
education and own practice, such as oil paints, charcoal and working on cardboard, she 
has found joy in continuously transferring her skill to such new materials and subject 
matter. Hannah now hopes to build multiple and continuous bodies of work, in order to 
emerge herself into the art scene through galleries and prizes.
