James Fletcher is an Australian fine glass artist working in glass-blowing and unique kiln-made glass from his studio in McGraths Hill.
James says of his glass making practice that “the process of shaping the glass is often time consuming and requires patience, but there are critical moments of intense activity and concentration. Each step in the process affects the outcome and the piece is often quite different to what is planned.
Glass is durable but fragile, cool and smooth to the touch, alive with light and colour. Hot glass is a very challenging material to work with, technically and artistically. I find it most rewarding to turn a creative idea into a unique piece of art.”
James Fletcher’s unique pieces are available at Gallery NWC in Katoomba, and online at nationwidecurating.com
