'In France I grew up with silhouette images and was fascinated by the accuracy and delicateness that can be achieved with just a pair of scissors.
Early in 2024 I had what I called a Matisse moment where the time came to regrettably give away my art practice from painting to paper-cut as my eyes were failing me.
I began with a resolute approach but with no idea how or what to depict, only to know that the reduce palette of blue and black was the way to go at least for a while.
Cutting paper revealed itself to be an excellent process of creating little snippets of storytelling and came to see them as my fairytales in dark times.'
