TAYLORED MENTORSHIP PROGRAMS
Nationwide Curating provides artist mentorships to established, early career or emerging artists and higher school certificate students. Artists receiving mentorship services might desire a variety of outcomes. Some artists are seeking improved results in secondary or tertiary education, development of their own, recognizable and unique visual style, assistance towards a career milestone such as an exhibition or large project and more.
Mentorships are therefore tailored specifically to the desired outcomes of each artist. Contact us at info@nationwidecurating.com for further details about how Nationwide Curating can work with you toward your artistic goals today.
MENTORSHIP EXAMPLES
1. University Student - Professional Practice Mentorship
Artist Monique Bedwell undertook a mentorship with Nationwide Curating's, long-term social arts project 'Duly Priced Drink' as her professional practice requirement through University of NSW Art and Design in July 2017. This project took place at BigCi, an artists residency retreat in Bilpin, NSW where Monique was an active facilitator during a 2 week residency. During this time Monique gained experience in public speaking, teaching printmaking to workshop participants, delivering artist talks and performed a primary role in the staged performance during the exhibition event marking the end of this incredible site-specific project.
Monique was a contributing artist in the Sculptures by the Sea in 2018 and has also since held her first solo exhibition in the same year.
2. Sponsored Winner - Blue Mountains Print Prize 2019
Artist Claudia Caldis was awarded as the major prize winner of the Blue Mountains Print Prize in the Youth Category 2019. Claudia received an exhibition, date to be announced shortly, and a mentorship with Nationwide Curating towards her printmaking arts practice. Claudia shows an enormous artistic potential and is one to watch.
3. Sponsored Winner - Blue Mountains Print Prize 2021
Artist Kassidy Monsieur was awarded First Prize in the Youth Category of the Blue Mountains Print Prize 2021. This award was sponsored by Nationwide Curating and we are privileged to be working with Kassidy toward her career goals. Kassidy will benefit from professional assistance in both her arts practice and towards her desired vocational outcome of teaching. We look forward to creating opportunities for Kassidy as a workshop facilitator and exhibiting artist over the coming 12 months.
