ABOUT THE ARTIST

Jack Buckley is an emerging multi-disciplinary artist from the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney. Self-taught, Jack has developed a unique style focusing largely on native Australian flora and fauna. Initially working in illustration, Jack's creative drive has led him to explore different and often under looked mediums- particularly hand embroidery. Jack also works in paint and ink.

Combining his passion for native Australian species with an interest in both classical and contemporary scientific art, Jack creates highly detailed embroidered profiles of native birds and plants, which are often featured against a backdrop of complimentary species that can be found in their environments.

Jack has had work exhibited in regional galleries, botanic gardens and art prizes.
