Upper Mountains artist, Barry White, grew up in the Black mountains in the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park in Wales. "Nature has been an inspiration part of my artwork throughout my life. Creativity has been a part of my life since my early beginning and has taken several forms along my artistic journey. I was a digital artist in computer games & TV for 15 years before returning to painting in 2020. I have found expression in my artwork through several mediums and most recently, oil painting." Barry White
My work has always been inspired by nature: organic forms, seasons, land, water, sky, and the living things that dwell in those spaces. The work is about colour, line, nature and seeing the world from a different perspective. My intention is to provide an opportunity to be part of a dialog with nature and the flora and fauna that surround us. The landscapes in my paintings are imaginary yet solidly grounded to my local surroundings of the Blue Mountains. They are inner landscapes inspired by outer landscapes. By taking away the 'realness' of a place, inspirations from daily walks and hikes come together in my studio as a finished painting.
