Allan Coker is a photographer who has a wide interest in photography developed as a consequence of extensive overseas travel. An overland trip through Europe, the Middle East and Asia, including Afghanistan, India, Nepal and Indonesia provided the impetus for his to further his photographic education and skills.
For this exhibition INTO THE WILDERNESS – GONDWANA & BEYOND, Allan has used several digital editing techniques, including the application of textural overlays taken from his portfolio of original textures he photographed over several years. “My aim was to produce images with a more ethereal, atmospheric and painterly quality to evoke a greater sense of the visual beauty and importance of our rainforests.”
