ARTIST STATEMENT
Susan finds inspiration close at hand—in and around her home in the lower Blue Mountains. Her observations of the landscape and paintings that revisit the same horizons contrast with artworks depicting collections of still life objects and floral arrangements. The artist draws inspiration from the views surrounding her home, native plants in her garden, gifts from friends, and cherished objects from her family. Through this process, she describes her affinity for both her exterior and interior worlds, seeking to understand her artistic self and how it intertwines with the surrounding landscape.
