THANK YOU! Djuwakan Jeremy Marika
We would like to thank Djuwakan Jeremy Marika for blessing and cleansing the building at 62 Atchison Street, St Leonards last Friday evening—During the launch event for Gallery NWC.
Jeremy Began by introducing himself and his people followed by a smoking ceremony and procession through the building. Following this was a yidaki (didgeridoo) performance, accompanied by daughter Mali who danced upstairs in the level 1 galleries.
We would like to thank Jeremy, Mali and Amanda for contributing to this event. It was a truly special experience for all who attended. We would also like to thank local and Darug people for consulting with us regarding appropriate processes, offering contact details and for generally wishing us well. It was wonderful to connect and please visit the gallery any time.
We are also honored to be working with both Jeremy and Amanda as contributing artists with Nationwide Curating and now Gallery NWC.
