After the Rain

ARTIST STATEMENT

I am inspired by the bushland of the Lower Blue Mountains and the vibrant life it sustains. In the early morning, parrots can be seen emerging from the hollows of the tall eucalypt and angophora. Each tree has the most beautiful combination of smooth bark, pits and bulges, cracked and gnarly surfaces. The surrounding rocks are stained and sandy. Colours seem to dance with both shadow and light. With these thoughts in mind, each ceramic piece is created. I like to think of the clay coming to life in the process.
