Banksia Small Vase2

The Banksia Range features an original design of Australian Banksia (Banksia serrata), indigenous to the local Sydney area. Real leaves and carefully crafted stamps have been impressed into clay to make a textured surface. The slabs of clay are then manipulated into 3 dimensional forms, often with the help of the potters wheel. Each piece is hand-thrown or slab-built (or a combination of both) by Denise McDonald, whose background in landscape architecture and formal ceramic training informs a practical, design-minded approach.
The work is highly functional but also very decorative. Special pieces that can be used every day.
