The Blue-Girdled Angelfish is one of the most colourful and varied residents of the Great Barrier Reef.
It occurs over the whole Indo-Australian archipelago as well as Western Australia, and is common around New Guinea and the Great Barrier Reef.
It is listed as a species of 'Least Concern' on the IUCN Red List (20120.
