The Cooloola Sedge frog is a tiny attractive from, with a maximum body length of 30mm. (SVL). Colour varies somewhat, ranging from dark green to brown above, often with tiny black spots.
It is found in South-eastern Queensland at Cooloola, Fraser Island and North Stradbroke Island. It prefers dense reed beds, and lives in sandy coastal areas and freshwater lakes and freshwater marshes (permanent and intermittent), swamps, and coastal freshwater lagoons.
It is threatened by habitat loss, water pollution and, on Stradbroke Island, water extraction for mining and domestic use. (Amphibiaweb)
The Cooloola Sedge from is listed as Endangered on the IUCN Red List.
