Works on Paper (unframed) by Sue Gasser

Sue always knew she was an artist from an early age and it was confirmed by her school teacher when she was young.

Although her working life was in an insurance office then a bank she always painted in her spare time. 

In her thirties she completed a Showcard Ticketwriting course which introduced her to pastels, she never looked back to picking up a paint brush again realising she was a drawer not a painter. Although 'topping ' the course Sue ventured into the art world.

She loves to draw mainly animals and nature, the detail in feathers and fur, the bark on trees and working dogs on the land, drovers on horseback herding cattle mostly anything Australian.

Sue has had many successful exhibitions and awards and her work has sold locally and overseas, one of her paintings hangs in the council chambers in Asanda Japan the sister city of the Blue Mountains, it was purchased by our council as a gift .

Sue successfully won first prize in the' Works on Paper' section in 2010 and first prize overall in 2013 at the Art Awards of Sydney.  There have been numerous awards with at least half being Veiwers Choice Awards which tells her what the puplic like.

Sue enjoys teaching art part time and gets much pleasure in seeing students develop in their skills 

and a love for art. 

It's Sues desire to express the beauty of nature through her artwork.
